Search: The function Search allows you to find records using words or phrases, returning a maximum of 2000 (?) records by search. If the number of records returned by the search expression is more than 2000 records, the search expression can be improved.The system is not case sensitive. For example, the word "computer" as the same meaning than "Computer" or "COMPUTER".
You can use the boolean operators AND and OR in the search expression. For example, you can search "heart OR cardiac AND surgery" and recover records that includes "heart" or "cardiac", including also the word "surgery".
The character ? (interrogation point) or the character * (asterisk) can be used on the left, right or in the middle of one sentence, but can only be used once in one string of text.
The symbol # (cardinal) can be used to found variant spellings in some cases where one word version has one more character than other version. Example: colo#r will found color and colour; and arch#eology will found archaeology and archeology.
The characer ! (exclamation point) can be used to found spelling variants in cases where one character changes.
Example: wom!n will return woman and women.
The symbol % (percentage) following by a number, may be placed between two words to indicate that want the words occur within a given distance from each other, but which does not matter with the order in which they occur.
Example: england %3 ballads will return Ballads of England, Ballads of Merry Olde England and England and Her Ballads.
The character ! (exclamation point), followed by a number, may be placed between two words to indicate that want the words occur within a given distance from each other, and in the same order as entered.
Example: ballads !3 england will return Ballads of England and Ballads of Merry Olde England but not England and Her Ballads.
